Château Brane-Cantenac
Château Brane-Cantenac, located in the prestigious Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region, is a winery with a rich history and a commitment to excellence. Originally known as Château Gorce, it was acquired in 1833 by Baron Hector de Brane, nicknamed the "Napoleon of Vineyards", who gave it its current name.
The estate covers 94 hectares and borders other renowned Margaux châteaux. The vineyards are planted with 62.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Carmenère. This composition results in wines with remarkable elegance and finesse.
Château Brane-Cantenac produces around 30,000 cases of wine every year. Besides their Grand Vin, they also offer the second wine, Baron de Brane, and Château Notton, made from grapes from the Notton vineyard.
Since 1922, the château has been owned by the Lurton family, with Henri Lurton at the helm since 1992. Under his leadership, Château Brane-Cantenac continues to strive for perfection, combining tradition and innovation to create wines that reflect Margaux's unique terroir.
