Château de Charodon
Château de Charodon, located in Montagny-lès-Beaune near Beaune, is the project of Louis Vallet, his brother Thibault and their father Bernard. The Vallet family is originally from Gevrey-Chambertin, where Bernard is co-owner of the successful Domaine Pierre Bourée. However, Louis chose his own path and started a micro-négociant business at the historic Château de Charodon, owned through his mother's family since the Middle Ages.
Louis Vallet has developed his craft by working with renowned winemakers such as Pascal Marchand and Bernard Zito. These influences have resulted in wines with generous and pure fruit character, offering both drinking pleasure and complexity without being over-processed.
Since the first harvest in 2010, with just 1,200 bottles, production has grown significantly. In 2021, Château de Charodon produced more than 42,000 bottles, with a range ranging from regional Burgundy wines to prestigious Grand Crus such as Corton-Charlemagne and Corton-Renardes.
Prized for their expressive character and charm, Château de Charodon's wines embody the essence of the Burgundian wine tradition. With Louis' commitment to quality and innovation, the estate remains an exciting project within the Burgundian wine world.
