Château Brane-Cantenac

The Château Brane-Cantenac 2017 is an impressive Margaux Deuxième Grand Cru Classé that reflects the essence of this prestigious appellation. The estate, with a history dating back to the 18th century, is praised for its exceptional terroir with gravelly soils ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and other classic Bordeaux grapes.

The blend of the 2017 vintage consists of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. This composition delivers a wine with unparalleled elegance and structure, with the Cabernet Sauvignon providing power and refinement, while the Merlot and Cabernet Franc contribute complexity and softness.

In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby red colour with purple reflections. The bouquet opens with refined aromas of black cherries, blackberries and violets, complemented by notes of cedar, graphite and a hint of tobacco. On the palette, Château Brane-Cantenac 2017 offers a silky texture with ripe tannins, lively acidity and wonderful balance. The wine has matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new. This ageing adds a refined layering and subtle wood tones, while maintaining pure fruit expression.
