The 2018 Ex Post Facto Syrah is a refined and powerful wine that embodies the essence of Californian Syrah. Produced by renowned winemaker Greg Brewer, this wine offers an impressive combination of depth, elegance and complexity.

The grapes are harvested by hand from carefully selected vineyards in Santa Barbara County, where the cool climate and unique soils create an ideal environment for Syrah. The 2018 vintage is characterised by balanced growing conditions, resulting in grapes with perfect ripeness and intense flavours.

In the glass, the wine shows a deep purple colour with garnet red reflections. The bouquet is intense and expressive, with aromas of blackcurrants, blue plums, roasted spices and subtle hints of violets and smoked meat. On the palette, the 2018 Ex Post Facto Syrah offers lush texture, firm but refined tannins and harmonious acidity. Flavours of dark chocolate, black pepper, blackberry and a hint of olive lead to a long, complex finish with mineral accents.

The wine has matured for 16 months in neutral French oak barrels, which brings out the full fruit expression and terroir without adding heavy wood tones.

The 2018 Ex Post Facto Syrah is an ideal companion to game dishes such as venison steak, wild duck or slow-cooked leg of lamb. With a storage potential of 10 to 15 years, this wine offers an impressive experience for lovers of Syrah and shows Greg Brewer's craftsmanship at its best.
