Dalkeith Kalmoesfontein Chenin Blanc
Read moreThe Dalkeith Chenin Blanc Kalmoesfontein 2023 is an exceptional expression of South African winemaking. This single-vineyard wine is produced at Kalmoesfontein, an iconic vineyard in the Swartland region, managed by visionary winemaker Adi Badenhorst. Set on granite-rich soils and planted with old bush vines, the vineyard benefits from the warm, dry climate of the Swartland, resulting in grapes with concentrated flavours and unique minerality.
The 2023-vintage highlights the exceptional character of Chenin Blanc with its clarity and refinement. In the glass, the wine presents itself with a light golden colour and an aromatic bouquet of ripe peach, quince, honey and subtle hints of white flowers. On the palate, this Chenin Blanc offers a beautiful interplay of fresh acidity, juicy stone fruit and a delicate minerality that continues into a long, lively finish.
The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in a combination of neutral oak barrels and concrete tanks. This approach preserves the purity of the fruit while adding subtle texture. The Dalkeith Chenin Blanc Kalmoesfontein 2023 is a wine that is both accessible in its youth and complex enough to age.
Perfect as an aperitif or paired with dishes such as grilled fish, seafood, or poultry. This Chenin Blanc embodies the essence of Kalmoesfontein and Dalkeith's commitment to producing wines that celebrate their unique terroir.
